Leisure rowing and beginner rowing for adults is designed for those looking to maintain regular physical activity, without the competitive component, focusing on well-being, health and contact with nature.
This option allows you to discover rowing calmly, at your own pace, in a safe and supervised environment.
Who is it for?
This option is intended for adults who want to:
- try rowing for the first time — no experience required
- do a complete activity with low impact on the joints
- train outdoors, on the river, in a relaxed environment
- maintain a routine compatible with work and personal life
What to expect
- Technical supervision and learning the basics: technique + safety
- A pace adapted to each participant’s level and goals
- A social and motivating environment
- Gradual progression, with no obligation to compete
The focus is on rowing well, comfortably and safely, while enjoying time on the river.
How do training sessions work?
- Sessions take place on the River Douro, in Gramido, Valbom, Gondomar, or “on land” at the Club’s facilities
- Equipment provided by the Club and affordable prices
- Schedules compatible with professional life: evenings and weekends
- Training sessions are suitable for non-Portuguese speakers
What if I want to progress later?
If you wish, you can progress to more regular groups and, eventually, veteran/competitive rowing, always in coordination with the coaching team.
